Zen is a wonderful Aladin's cave of amazing crystals and spiritual gifts. Those who serve in the shop are friendly and helpful. They hold inspirational workshops and the shop is well worth a visit if u haven't yet given it a try.

I love herbal tea a bit too much, and Zen is the place where I go and top up my home supply. They have an extensive range of herbs in jars at the back of the room, which literally goes from a bulky A - Z. The staff at Zen are highly friendly, approachable and knowledgeable, so it's easy to find out exactly what tea is beneficial to you. I am just a bit of a tea obsessive and drink as many different ones as possible throughout the day, so make sure you know what you are after by consulting the staff.

But of course, Zen doesn't just sell herbal tea, they also have a large quantity of incense, which you can smell by simply walking past the shop, let alone going inside. There's also an array of crystals, Tarot cards and fairy models which helps to define the Tolkien-inspired world just around the corner at Moseley Bog.

Zen is a little like stepping into the spiritual beliefs which were once an integral part of Birmingham's past. From Druids Heath to Moseley itself, Zen has depicted the bohemian ethos through traditional remedies and magic, as well as in store tarot readings and massages.

Hi, I'm Tahmina Begum and I was in The Zen Shop in Digbeth a few weeks ago and asked to write an article about it from a fashion inspiration perspective, it is posted now. I thought I would let you know as well as tweeting you about it to remind you. http://maximalistmina.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/the-zen-shop-digbeth.html

I hope you enjoy it! Thank you,

I pretty much visited this place for two special reasons, it's a purple shop (and I cannot resist anything in purple) and also because I love incense sticks! Not surprisingly I have found out that Zen is much more than just a purple incense shop! Well, I have bought some very special types of incense like opium and cannabis ones (for a quid each) but the variety of its candles are really impressive!

It's was quite scary finding a Yemaya candle, something that I wouldn't expect to see in an independent shop from Birmingham. I have visited Zen at Moseley, but there is another in Digbeth as well and I would also recommend checking their website to know more about this mystical and spiritual place.

I love Zen, I have been a loyal customer for many years. Some days I go and browse to give myself a boost. The staff don't judge you and are really welcoming - I love the taster weekends and ensure I always attend with my girls - highly recommended +++

If you are looking for help with health, beauty and spirituality then look no further than Zen. Upon walking into Zen I was surprised by the amount of crystals, birthstones, jewellery and incense they had to offer. They also supply and endless list of medicinal herbs that treat small ailments and maladies. The herbs' origins are far reaching and include Traditional Chinese Medicine and other alternatives to western Biomedicine.

Zen also offers psychic tarot and palm readings, daily with classes starting at 20 pounds for an hour, just call or book online. Zen has something for everyone and I would highly recommend a visit.

I am a fan. Zen is like a cross between Aladdin's Cave and something out of Narnia. They sell all sorts of wonderful items in here, they really do have something for everyone. Whether your after ornaments or texts for religious worship or interest, or more general materials to fill an interest or hobby, they have it in stock here. From books, to ornaments, gods and candles, pendants to dream catchers, you feel like you can spend quite a bit of time in here.

I was after a fancy lamp shade I had seen in here, but by the time I got back to the store, it had sold. If your after that unique gift, body art or just need to top up on supplies, best to call in here. The assistants are also very helpful, and if they don't have what your after, they can point you in the right direction.

I went to the Zen shop in Moseley. Had some Reiki done by Jackie. It was amazing. I will be going back very soon.

Shops like Zen are one-a-penny in the South West of England, where I've spent some time of my life. Walking down Glastonbury High Street, (no pun intended), on both sides you are flanked by New-Age shops peddling 'mystic goods', with various degrees of credibility. Zen is the real deal, selling alternative therapies, massages, self-help books, and incense among other things.

Digbeth Residents Association (DRA) was established in 2007 and became a formally constituted group in February 2011. DRA works in partnership with residents, local businesses and local authorities to bring the community together, promoting Digbeth as a destination in Birmingham and building a vibrant place to live.

Digbeth is Good
‘Blog covering Digbeth, an inner city area of Birmingham currently suffering from a severe case of the regenerations. Symptoms include schizophrenia and susceptibility to artists. Also has lots of old man pubs.’

I love Digbeth
Everybody loves Digbeth, The Eastside of Birmingham has been the epicentre of everything that is cool, underground and vibrant about the city for many years. We’re all aware of The Custard Factory, The Rainbow Complex, (HMV) Digbeth Institute and Air nightclub. These places have been blazing a trail for Digbeth’s night life for many a year. However there is SO much more to Digbeth than nightclubs. There are bars, restaurants, cafes, snooker halls (three in fact!!), Go-Karting tracks, uber cool retro furniture emporiums, clothes shops, recording studios, dance studios, colleges and take-a-ways to list just a few of the many things on offer to residents and visitors a like.
